Is the 30×30 cm mini workshop suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. It is our smallest, simplest workshop for first-time makers. The 2–3 hour class includes a clear demonstration, materials and step-by-step support at our Chippendale studio.
What is included in the $90 Beginner Mini Workshop?
The $90 booking includes one 30×30 cm rug project, use of a tufting gun and frame, yarn, core materials, guided instruction, gluing and professional backing.
What rug design is easiest for a beginner?
Simple artwork with clear shapes, bold outlines and a small number of flat colours is easiest for a first rug. Send your chosen design around 48 hours before class so the Tuft & Craft team can help prepare it.

Is one 30×30 cm project designed for one person?
Yes. This compact project is best for one maker. If two people each want to make and keep a rug, book two projects.
Can I change or cancel my tufting workshop booking?
Yes. A Beginner Mini Workshop booking can be changed or cancelled up to 24 hours before the scheduled session.
Where is the Tuft & Craft workshop in Sydney?
Tuft & Craft is located at Shop 1, 49 Regent Street, Chippendale NSW 2008, within walking distance of Central Station.
After your workshop
Can I take my rug home immediately?
Yes—just let us know in advance. Otherwise, we’ll professionally glue and back your rug, which usually takes around two days before it’s ready for collection. Postage is also available for $28.
What age is the beginner tufting workshop suitable for?
Beginner Mini Workshop is recommended for ages 10 and over. A responsible adult should accompany younger participants where required.
